This is an opportunity to let your knitting energize you with these bold colors!  Take some time for yourself this summer and knit a sweater you can wear this fall.  

Knitting is my happy place for so many reasons; but it just feels good to sit and be lost in the stitches, the colors, and the act of creating something with your hands.  In this technology driven world, knitting grounds me to the real world in real time.

We will be meeting in real life to work on this project; the kick off is Thursday June 27 at Electric Works OR you can join us virtually in our Ravelry group.  This group will meet again August 24th, and September 7th for a finished photo (location TBD depending on group size).   

The pattern is not included in the yarn bundles.  Find the pattern here.  Includes great Tin Can Knits tutorials making sure you will be a success (even if this is your first lace, or first sweater).  

These bundles have enough yarn to knit up to the size large cropper version OR if you feel like playing yarn chicken, you are 10 yds short for the long size large version.  If you would like additional skeins, you can find the TML here, and the Silk Cloud here. 

Got a dream project you'd like to tackle? Nervous about trying a new technique or something big? Let’s do it together! This group class will allow students to bring in the project of their choice, whether it's a new cast on or something that's been languishing in the WIP pile. Work through questions or tricky sections with the guidance of an instructor and the encouragement of your fellow knitters.

If you need help figuring out a new project to cast on, we would highly recommend the Alpine Bloom tee for an advanced beginner/intermediate knitter.  If you wanted something easier but still exciting enough for a newer knitter why not try Anker's summer sweater 

Other simple but thoughtful patterns we love are by Elizabeth Smith.  If you are looking for an engaging accessory try Blue Sky Fibers projects.  We would be happy to help you pick out a project, and you can look at a huge number of samples at the shop.  We stand behind the designers and yarns we carry.  We want you to enjoy your knitting and have success at home.  These classes are a great way to gain confidence at any level. 

Jennifer is an excellent knitter who is capable of helping you decode patterns, fix mistakes, and make decisions about ripping out.  Jennifer and Natalie have similar knitting philosophies and styles (if we can save it without massive ripping, we will!).  During our finish it COVID contest, Jennifer knit more yards than EVERYONE!  Her enthusiasm for knitting, and willingness to try any pattern no matter how difficult it is makes her the perfect teacher to get you out of a jam, or make sure you are on the straight and narrow.  She will also power knit some stockinette stitch or on some socks.  

As an added bonus if you sign up for 3 or more sessions you will get a $10 store credit for each session you purchase to use in the month of June.  

The fine print:

Your yarn must have been purchased from Knitting off Broadway.  Our reasoning for this: We want you to be happy with your finished project, and we have experience with the yarns we carry.  I am speaking from over 20 years of personal experience.

No refunds or transferring of class dates unless WE cancel the class.

If less than 3 students are enrolled 7 days before, the class will be cancelled and you will be refunded or you will have the option to switch dates.  

The prices here are for one, two hour session with Jennifer and they will meet at the shop.  

The official 2024 Shetland Wool Week knitting pattern the ‘Islesburgh Toorie’ has been exclusively designed by the Doull family as the SWW Patrons for 2024.

Knit the hat in any of the suggested colour variations.  The pattern is not included just the yarn bundles.   We are featuring Jamieson's Shetland but also a brighter option in Kelbourne Woolens perennial.
